Research - Review of previous student videos

I liked this student video because it made a clear impact what the theme was and how it relates to the song. There is a reoccurring colour of red which is the only colour highlighted in the video and red can connote love which is the main intention of the video, which is spreading love. The mise en scene supports this, especially her red shoes, lipstick and heart shaped earrings. I also noticed how they went to Speaker's corner where they attached lots of signs and gave a speech which helps the viewer get the point of the video.  







I liked this student video because of how well they have developed the old school hip hop theme. All of the video is filmed in a black and white effect which brings the viewer into a different time. There is lots of filming done with a fish eye lens, which brings whatever is being filmed (in this case a range of people) closer to the camera. This gives a personal feel and makes the viewer feel that they can relate to them. The mise en scene also links with the theme with an old school style such as a baseball cap and lots of city atmosphere like graffiti and street views.
