narrative video

In class, we talked about basic structure for movies which is: 

Stage 1. Normality; two characters such as lovers, or hero-villain.

Stage 2. There is a problem= disruption to normality. 

Stage 3.Overcoming the disruption 

Stage 4. return to changes normality. 

Music videos don't really follow this pattern, but there's an example of a music video that slightly does, and it has a very clear structure. Cee Loo Green- Fu** You.  

The 'narrative' that takes place is basically his lack of success with one woman, which is turned around at the end where he's not interested in her anymore. The video shows 3 stages of his life- as a kid, as a teenager and as an adult. Cee Loo is a story teller and the character at the same time. When there is a chorus he sings is as an adult, which connotes he's telling us this story as the time has now passed.
