conventions for music videos

I've studied different types of music videos, from different genres of music.

Hip Hop
50 Cent- Candy Shop
From what I've seen, the high budget ones often contain fancy cars and big houses, gold jewelry, half naked girls  and baisically shows how rich and amazing the rapper is. It also supports the idea of women being passive.

the other group of hip hop videos are the lower budget ones, which are usually more meaningful, respectful and less sexual. for example Jay Z- 99 Problems, which is quite old school like, and represents hip hop in a good way. it also has many conventional things such as cars, streets, graffiti.

Rock
I've noticed there's often a footage of the band, either during a concert or behind the scenes. props such as guitar, drums etc may be used. the costume is crucial too, so we might see a lot of dark clothes. We often see a lot of tour footage.

Rage Against looks like a footage from one of the concerts. As I said, you can see the band a lot, so it's not all about the lead singer but the band as a whole, we often see shots of other people in the band.

Or in this one, where the band is wearing a dark costume, and we can often see them in a long shot, where we can see all members of the band together, of med-shots/close ups on each of the band members.

Reggae
Almost in every video I've watched there are green, yellow and red, which are colours conventional for this type of music. Often there are many Jamaican people, Rastafarian's, joints, dreadlocks, neighborhood  and so on.
