(the process of making music and recording it to a sufficient standard so it can be sold)
We said that today there's less use of the physical product, because people often watch and listen to the music online or using their iPod's, mp3's or phones. Due to use of technology, people expect more from what their watch/listen to such as special effects, good quality of music or watching something in HD. For example, in Dr Dre's I Need A Doctor, there's a car crush scene, before the song actually starts.

(how this music gets to people and how they know about it).
Before, it was more about TV and radio, where music was advertised. People bought albums and gigs and concerts were advertised. Today, its the other way round. People go to the gigs and shows and albums are advertised. I think this hasn't changed much, it's usually through media that we know what's going on. Today, it might be more about internet, for example YouTube adverts or pop-up's. Here are examples of some pop-up's below the video we watch:

(what changes hands between the people who own the music, and it's audience in reward for the chance to listen to it.)
Before it was music stores that people went to, to buy the albums. Now, it's pretty much about iTunes and YouTube where people buy their music.
We also talked about how music videos change overall, and in my class we thought that today, artist seem to break the idea of a single or a simple music video, to promote themselves and give something more to the audience, for example Lady Gaga's Telephone, breaks the routine of a simple video, but it's more like a mini-film, which people can watch. The video's 9:31 mins, and the song itself probably around 3-4 minutes. But somehow it works, the the music video's got 122,159,050 views.
The popular videos go VITAL, which means everyone is familiar with it and everyone is posting it. The good example is OK Go- Here it goes again. It was very popular, because it was funny and unique. (9,580,392 views)
