Tomorrow we'll fiming the dancers, but before doing that I just wanted to have a clear idea of what our shots will look like. I went on YouTube and was looking for a serious footage of people dancing, where many shots have been used and editing was applied. I found a good example (I think it comes from the movie- Step Up 3). Many different shots are used, and I like the fact that there's a feel that we're taking part in this. That's probably caused by a constant eye contact, and camera panning across the dancers. and tracking. This is what I would like to do tomorrow, the use of direct eye contact creates a happier and welcoming atmosphere. I've noticed that the shots used are usually mid and long shots. This is probably through their use we can see what's going on are actually see the routine. I also like the fact that the camera follows the dancers and sometimes we can see the camera man in the mirror, but we won't use that because that's not the aim of our music video we're producing. Also, everything is filmed in one clip, so if something went wrong, they had to restart. We might continue filming without stopping, but we will pick out sections of the clip, as we have more different scenes to use. So, tomorrow:
-hand held camera to make the audience feel like they're part of it
-mid + long shots
-eye contact
that's the video, enjoy:
