Research for music video- Key features of music video structure

Most of the music video have not a narrative. However there is a key differences between a narrative in the music video and narrative in the movie.

Music Video:

• time is compressed (whole 'life' is shows in 4 min)
• shippets
• simple events to tell the story
• minimal amount of characters
• story is narrated simply
• lots of performance
• dis-continous editing- jumps from the shot to shot

while

Film Video:   Propp/Tadorox theory

• Normality -2 central characters lovers or hero/villan
• Problem- distruption to normallity
• Quest to overcome distruption
• Return to a changed normality

Throughout different music video, I could argue that some of them are carrying to the some extrend, the film structure. However it is increbile impotant to remeber that music video does not have a resulution.
