It’s good to be back on my blogging duty!  So to start, over the summer I’ve been watching and analysing music videos from different genres of music.

Ed Shreeran- You don’t need me, I don’t need you (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXvzzTICvJs)

Simple but effective. Doesn’t need to have a narrative, we don’t know what the story is. Our attention is brought to one guy dancing throughout the video. Different shots are applied, to make the video interesting. No fast editing, so it goes right with the song.

So it made me think that music video’s not a movie and doesn’t have to tell a story (it still can thought). I think this video is particularly unique because it’s effective. It’s got good choreography, is simple but good- black and white, strong use of lighting vs costume so white lighting (background)- black costume and vice versa.
